Because of the significant threat of the HIV/AIDS epidemic to the
overall public health of the sub-Saharan nations, the main
International Partnership Plan for the 21st Century is to establish
an effective outreach program for the youth, especially for women,
children, mother- to- child transmission, STDs and universal
precautions.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Promotion of early diagnosis
Treatment of STDs
Promotion of safer sexual behaviour
Human Resources
Prevention of prenatal transmission
Prioritisation of issues pertaining to women, children, youth and
other marginalized groups.
Prevention and Education
Media Advertising, seminars, primary to tertiary schools and rural
awareness through chiefs and queen mothers
Regional information centres and support groups
Proper use of condoms
Sex education for the infected
Sex education for the uninfected |
